The centre recently performed 433 bypass surgeries without any death which was acknowledged in the LIMCA Book of Records 2012. He also said that DHVC has performed 6,000 primary angioplasties in heart attack with excellent results”. The Preventive Cardiology program encompasses the following services which include lipid, hypertension, nutrition and risk reduction clinics; inpatient and outpatient cardiac rehabilitation; risk factor and vascular screening programs, exercise stress testing, exercise prescription and counseling, smoking cessation, stress management and several other clinical, research and educational programs. The department conducts risk stratification with the help of cardiac evaluation; blood investigations and newer tests provide a target-oriented approach and plans individual programs based on the conditions of and requirements of the patients.
